"wake up like an emperor"

JAKOBSEN Artful Living is a contemporary Art, Architecture & Design Studio founded by Danish-British creative partnership Rune Bo Jakobsen and Keely Jakobsen.

Rooted in a shared passion for artistic expression, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design, the studio explores the relationship between art, architecture, interiors, and the environments we inhabit. Working across disciplines, their practice encompasses sculpture, architecture, interior design, bespoke commissions, and public artworks, creating projects that are both timeless and deeply connected to place.

With an established studio in Malta and a holiday home in Denmark, their work is shaped by the contrasting influences of the Mediterranean and Scandinavia—combining warmth, simplicity, natural materials, and a strong architectural sensibility.

At JAKOBSEN Artful Living, creativity extends beyond aesthetics to embrace a considered way of living. Each project is approached with a commitment to beauty, authenticity, and meaningful design, resulting in spaces and artworks that inspire connection, reflection, and everyday enjoyment.

We invite you to discover a world where art, architecture, and design come together to create enduring experiences and extraordinary places.

RUNE BO JAKOBSEN
PERIT, ARKITEKT MAA (Cand Arch)

Rune Bo Jakobsen is a Danish–Maltese artist and warranted architect whose work spans both the built environment and the expressive language of art.

Since 2000, he has played a key role in shaping urban landscapes across Malta, contributing to landmark architectural projects, green harbour regeneration initiatives, and the sensitive restoration of historic townhouses. His architectural approach is grounded in a deep respect for context, materiality, and the evolving relationship between people and place.

Alongside his architectural practice, Rune is an established exhibiting artist, known for his distinctive ‘reactive impressionist’ style. His vibrant streetscapes, portraits, and sculptural works have been presented in numerous solo exhibitions since 2013 and are held in private collections internationally.

His public artworks include notable landmark sculptures such as Olive Twist in Żejtun and the bronze Embryonic Horse, inaugurated in Floriana in 2024—further reflecting his ability to move seamlessly between disciplines, scale, and mediums.

KEELY JAKOBSEN

Keely Jakobsen is a British-Maltese keramik artist and interior designer whose work explores movement, gesture, and organic form through hand-built sculpture.

Alongside her artistic practice, Keely works in interior design and project management bringing together art, architecture, and carefully considered interiors. Her approach is guided by a deep appreciation for natural materials, timeless aesthetics, and the relationship between objects and the spaces they inhabit.

As co-founder of Jakobsen Artful Living, she contributes to a multidisciplinary studio practice spanning keramik sculpture, interior design and bespoke commissions, creating work that celebrates beauty, authenticity, and the art of living well.
